Mindless Monday

Good Monday morning!

The Gallery Pics tell the story of our weekend... and finally, there was a story to tell! Not a fascinating or breathtaking story, but a story nonetheless.

RANDOMNESS #1 - The Pioneer Woman had a contest called "Quarters" on her blog last week. She chose four winners. Each winner received $500 for their favorite charity to help Tornado Relief in Alabama. I entered the contest, but did not win. However, one of the winners did pick my charity (Samaritan's Purse), so I was happy.

The reason the contest was called "Quarters" is very simple. For every comment left on The Pioneer Woman's blog, she said she would donate a quarter to a Tornado Relief charity. She had well over 23,000 comments. After doing the math, Ree donated over $5,800 to... Toomer's for Tuscaloosa!

I just thought it was worth mentioning.

RANDOMNESS #2 - The GIANT picture at the beginning of A Simple Life was taken from Mrs. Faulkner's garden. In fact, several of my GIANT pictures have been taken in her garden. She has an exceptionally green thumb... and I have an exceptionally good camera. We kind of complement each other.

RANDOMNESS #3 - I have one word for you... THOR! As I said Friday, The Boy and I had a date. Since he is an animal lover (like his Mother), we were going to see Disney's African Cats.

It worked out that Josh was able to go with us Friday afternoon, so I decided to surprise the guys.

Instead of African Cats (which we will see on DVD in a few weeks), I took them to see THOR! And not just THOR, but 3-D THOR! They were very happy, and I was happy because they were... and so on and so on.

If you had told me, "Enchanting Belinda. THOR is going to be one of your all-time favorite superhero movies EVER," I would have disagreed with you. I didn't even know the background story of THOR. I mean, how cool could a superhero with a hammer actually be?

Oh... my... word! Just let me say three words. "Way cool hammer!"

Read the review before you take younger kids to this movie, but tween and teen guys will LOVE it!

And if I were in my early 30s and still having kiddos, you can be pretty sure Austin or Josh would be stuck with the name THOR! And it would be spelled just like that, too. All caps with an exclamation point. Also, there would be no middle name. No need.

THOR! Faulkner. I like it. I like it a lot!
