Weekend Happenings

Good Friday morning!

Home, Sweet Home! We arrived home at exactly 3:00... just in time for Josh to make it to a friend's birthday party. It was a miracle, I tell you!

Friday's pics are posted in the Gallery! I've added a few more pics since we arrived home for your perusal, too! (Just a bonus because you've been so patient!)

A FEW ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. I'll share some stories from our week at the beach beginning Monday, August 2. (I know! It's almost too good to be true, isn't it?)

2. I'll be posting on Project 365 today, Saturday and Sunday (as usual).

3. Next week's post will be centered on Back to School parties, recipes, traditions, dates, etc., so you will want visit A Simple Life EVERY SINGLE DAY without fail!

4. On Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, our Special Guest for August will be making an appearance. More fun!

5. My favorite show of all time (at the moment) is iCarly. I know it is meant for tweens and teens, but it makes me (and Mikie) LOL... a lot. I just thought you should know things are getting more simple around here by the minute!

5. I think that is all. My mind is a little less sharp than usual for various reasons... and it's rarely as sharp as a butter knife on a good day!

HINTS FOR AUGUST SPECIAL GUEST - Three more hints and you're on your own! Guess away this weekend, and see if you were correct Monday morning!

7. She has had more hospital visits than most women MY age.

8. She likes firemen. (I'm sorry. Most women I know DO like firemen, so this may or may not be a big clue.)

9. Her nose crinkles a little when she smiles. Very cute.

Of course, there's no prize for the guessing correctly... except for bragging rights!

Weekend Happenings

I would love to have the most laid-back weekend ever, but since Sunday is AUGUST 1 and school starts back AUGUST 11, there's no time for laid-back, is there? No, sir!

Austin will be spending time with the lovely Melia AND working at the Chick before heading back to JSU Friday, August 6. (There will be a great amount of whining in next week's posts, too. Just so you know.)

Josh will be spending time with friends, and watching the last of the summer movies on his list.

Roxie will be shopping for that all-important FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL outfit ALL WEEKEND LONG (which means I will be shopping for the all-important FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL outfit with her)! Hopefully, we'll both fall in love with the first thing she tries. Hey! It could happen!

Mikie, Roxie and I are having dinner with friends Saturday evening. They are grilling, and we are supplying the dessert. (By the way, I'm trying a new Apple Crisp recipe tomorrow, and if it is any good it will be featured next Tuesday!)

Other than church Sunday, that is it for the Faulkner Five. In between all of the other Weekend Happenings, I will be attempting to empty and put away 22 duffel bags, suitcases and coolers.

That is the goal!

I hope you have a terrific weekend. Make at least one memory with family and/or friends. Just one! That's not too much to ask, is it? Nah! I didn't think so.

Take care, and I'll talk to you Monday.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting and Finally Home Belinda

Friday...

Friday...
Finally, some new basketball action shots.

The JV team had two 40-minute games Friday, so I thought I would just go ahead and start filming now!

And here's the obligatory Bryant Tuggle pic. He's a HUGE supporter of our baskeball team. Always has been... always will be. Well, until he gets his own driver's license!

Saturday...

Saturday...
We spent the day with the cousins Saturday. Monica, Amy, Roxie and I shopped at Brookwood, ate at Yolo's and went to the movies (Pirates 4). It was a great day, but the best part was our celebrity sighting...

That's right! Will Ferrell! (Please feel free to use your imagination. I know we did!)

Sunday...

Sunday...
Mikie's 50th Family Birthday Celebration! Everyone knows 50 year-old men LOVE the Green Lantern...and their wives really like Ryan Reynolds! (How cool would it be to have your picture on a birthday party plate package? Another goal, perhaps?)

What do you give a 50 year-old guys for his birthday? Cards... filled with money, Ricky Skaggs' concert tickets, a True Grit DVD and a Red Devil's Food Cake with Divinity Icing (from his Mom). It was a very good day!

Lovely Melia gave him the True Grit DVD. (I LOVE that movie!)

And it wouldn't be a birthday without a hug from Roxie!
