The Gallery Pics are more "Roxie Cam" photos. It's interesting to see the world from the eyes of your 13 year-old. Almost every picture on Roxie's card was taken by holding her arm straight out and pointing it at herself and a friend. Fascinating!

Wednesday Wisdom - My nephew, Brad, and his Dad visited Mayberry a few weeks ago. Our pastor has mentioned Andy Griffith reruns a couple of times the last few weeks. So today, I've got "Andy on the brain." Here are just a few memorable quotes from that CLASSIC TV show. (I think I'm going to plan an "Andy Griffith Marathon" soon. We'll be having fried chicken, mashed potatoes and apple pie before we sit down to enjoy the good ol' days!)

Barney Fife: If there's anything that upsets me, it's having people say I'm sensitive.

Barney Fife: Now here at the Rock we have two rules. Memorize them until you can say them in your sleep. Rule number one: obey all rules. Rule number two: no writing on the walls. (Oh, if life could be that simple! At this moment in time, I have 374 house rules. It's confusing, I tell you.)

Barney Fife: Well, today's eight year-olds are tomorrow's teenagers. I say this calls for action and now. Nip it in the bud. First sign of youngsters going wrong, you've got to nip it in the bud.
Andy Taylor: I'm going to have a talk with them. What else do you want me to do?
Barney Fife: Well, don't just mollycoddle them.
Andy Taylor: I won't.
Barney Fife: Nip it. You go read any book on the subject of child discipline and you'll find every one of them is in favor of bud-nipping. (Barney's right, you know.)

TV Classic Marathon Night

And I guess you know what the Seasonal Tradition will be today. I've mentioned it before, but it is a fun, inexpensive and easy way to spend an evening with the family. Find a classic TV show you enjoyed as a kid and tape several episodes OR order a DVD from Netflix.

Take a little time to plan a menu around the "theme" of the show. Have dinner as a family, and then settle in to watch several episodes from "way back when." Here are a few examples: Happy Days, I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show, The Twilight Zone, Bonanza, etc. The list goes on and on.

It will give your kids a little peek at what you enjoyed watching as a kid... and the more they understand and spend time with their parents, the less "bud-nipping" you might have to do later on. Hey! It's a win-win!
