Good Tuesday morning!
The Gallery pics are of fresh Chocolate Chip Pumpkin Muffins made first thing this morning. I'm trying to practice what I preach, so I'm delivering these bags to a few friends today. If you don't like pumpkin (and I just cannot begin to fathom that), I would suggest you try these anyway. They are moist and not too strong in the "pumpkin" department! I've posted the recipe before, but if you don't have it in your collection and you're interested, let me know via the Comment Section, e-mail or Facebook, and I'll send you another copy. Delicious!
RANDOMNESS - I opened my mailbox last week and found the November Martha Stewart Living edition. Beautiful! If you are a "pie" person, you will need to buy this magazine immediately.
However, pies aside, I immediately turned to Martha's Calendar... my favorite page in the entire magazine. I love to compare our lives using our two calendars!

I'm telling you... Martha and I could totally hang out together. Totally!
Cranberry Sauce
I have actually had homemade cranberry sauce and it is WONDERFUL! It was served as a side dish beside the turkey, AND the person who made the sauce actually spread it lightly on her slice of pound cake, too. Delicious and tangy and so pretty!
You will need the following:
2 (12 ounce) packages fresh cranberries
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup fresh orange juice
2 tablespoons grated fresh ginger
1 cup sweetened dried cranberries
1 tablespoon orange zest
1. Stir together first 5 ingredients and 1/2 cup water in a lightly greased 4-quart slow cooker.
2. Cover and cook on high 3 to 3 1/2 hours or until cranberries begin to pop. (FUN!)
3. Uncover and cook 30 minutes. Stir in dried cranberries and orange zest.
4. Cool completely, stirring often (about 1 hour; mixture will thicken as it cools).
5. Cover and chill 8 hours. Store in refrigerator up to 2 weeks.
I copied this particular recipe from the new Southern Living magazine. However, it is similar to my friend's recipe. She didn't add dried cranberries or ginger in her recipe.
I also like "make-ahead" recipes. This dish can be made a day or two before Thanksgiving and forgotten about until the guests start arriving!
Have a glorious Tuesday. Wednesday I'll be sharing Wisdom and one of the following: Party, Event, Devotion OR Tradition. You'll have to visit again to see which one I choose!
Take care, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Sincerely,
The Enchanting Belinda
If you are new to A Simple Life, here's a little tip. There will ALWAYS be many, many pics at the end of each post. New pictures are added every day (Monday through Friday). If you want to get to the "picture" part of the blog, you have to keep scrolling down, down, down... but you will eventually find it! Thanks for visiting!

Friday...
Finally, some new basketball action shots.
The JV team had two 40-minute games Friday, so I thought I would just go ahead and start filming now!
And here's the obligatory Bryant Tuggle pic. He's a HUGE supporter of our baskeball team. Always has been... always will be. Well, until he gets his own driver's license!
Saturday...
We spent the day with the cousins Saturday. Monica, Amy, Roxie and I shopped at Brookwood, ate at Yolo's and went to the movies (Pirates 4). It was a great day, but the best part was our celebrity sighting...
That's right! Will Ferrell! (Please feel free to use your imagination. I know we did!)
Sunday...
Mikie's 50th Family Birthday Celebration! Everyone knows 50 year-old men LOVE the Green Lantern...and their wives really like Ryan Reynolds! (How cool would it be to have your picture on a birthday party plate package? Another goal, perhaps?)
What do you give a 50 year-old guys for his birthday? Cards... filled with money, Ricky Skaggs' concert tickets, a True Grit DVD and a Red Devil's Food Cake with Divinity Icing (from his Mom). It was a very good day!
Lovely Melia gave him the True Grit DVD. (I LOVE that movie!)
And it wouldn't be a birthday without a hug from Roxie!
