Mindless Monday

Good Monday afternoon!

I didn't think today's post would be so late, but Mike and I took Roxie to the hospital this morning to have her pins removed (YEA), and when we came home around 9:30, the Internet was down. If I had known this was going to happen, I would have gotten up at 3:15 a.m. instead of 4:15 a.m. and posted. Yeah! You know that's true!

I didn't take pictures this weekend. Although we've driven around and seen some of the destruction and devastation firsthand, I overheard an older woman in the grocery store Saturday morning talking to a relative on a cellphone. She was very upset people had been driving by and taking photographs of her destroyed home, but not offering to help. "They have power and gas and a car that wasn't crushed by a tree, and they're just driving by taking pictures of all of us who don't have anything left."

So out of respect for her and all the other people directly affected by the storm, I left the picture-taking up to family, friends and news media. I think there is a HUGE need for pictures and video of this tragedy on Facebook, the news and other media so people will be able to understand how horrible the destruction truly is, but I didn't think it would serve a purpose on A Simple Life.

So many others have done such an excellent job getting images "out there" so people could try to begin to understand the loss. I don't think I could have added anything different or better than what I've already seen.

Today's Mindless Monday is just that... a few pictures taken of Roxie pre-surgery (and one post-Surgery) this Monday morning.

I pray that today finds you and yours safe and well. I pray for all the victims of Wednesday's storms. I pray for the families looking for missing loved ones. My heart is heavy for those who are suffering so very, very much.

I'll be on my regular schedule beginning tomorrow morning. I'll have a recipe to share with you first thing.

Take care, and I'll talk to you Tuesday morning.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting Belinda

Friday...

Friday...
Finally, some new basketball action shots.

The JV team had two 40-minute games Friday, so I thought I would just go ahead and start filming now!

And here's the obligatory Bryant Tuggle pic. He's a HUGE supporter of our baskeball team. Always has been... always will be. Well, until he gets his own driver's license!

Saturday...

Saturday...
We spent the day with the cousins Saturday. Monica, Amy, Roxie and I shopped at Brookwood, ate at Yolo's and went to the movies (Pirates 4). It was a great day, but the best part was our celebrity sighting...

That's right! Will Ferrell! (Please feel free to use your imagination. I know we did!)

Sunday...

Sunday...
Mikie's 50th Family Birthday Celebration! Everyone knows 50 year-old men LOVE the Green Lantern...and their wives really like Ryan Reynolds! (How cool would it be to have your picture on a birthday party plate package? Another goal, perhaps?)

What do you give a 50 year-old guys for his birthday? Cards... filled with money, Ricky Skaggs' concert tickets, a True Grit DVD and a Red Devil's Food Cake with Divinity Icing (from his Mom). It was a very good day!

Lovely Melia gave him the True Grit DVD. (I LOVE that movie!)

And it wouldn't be a birthday without a hug from Roxie!
