Mindless Monday

Good Monday morning!

The Showcase Pic is of Josh and his homecoming date, Raegan. Isn't she pretty? And isn't he handsome? Homecoming was a success... for Josh AND Roxie!

RANDOMNESS #1 - It is now Monday, October 11. As of 8:21 a.m., there was no tiny pumpkin sitting atop the drive-thru sign at Chick-Fil-A. It appears I will have to take matters into my own hands.

RANDOMNESS #2 - I may or may not own a $15.89 (plus tax) splotchy orange pumpkin by this evening. It's all I think about... which is extremely sad, and, as I have said many times before, I need to get out more.

RANDOMNESS #3 - Two chipmunks are eating my stacked pumpkins on my front porch. They don't even try to run when I open the front door. While I am angry they are defacing my pumpkins, I am quite excited I might be able to get a pic of a chipmunk up close and personal in the next day or so!

RANDOMNESS #4 - I am still chicken-less... unless you count the four pounds of chicken tenderloins I have in my freezer. Mikie continues to taunt me and offer me other odd, ridiculous animals to raise... the latest being a yak.

To be perfectly honest, I would settle for a laying hen OR a fainting goat. Right now, those two are at the top of my list. And when I get a real farm animal, I am having a really cool sign made reading "Faulkner Farms, circa 1832." (I have never fully understood the "circa" thing, but I like it, and I'm putting it on my sign. Deal with it!)

I will also start scheduling preschool field trips to visit my farm. The children will be able to observe chipmunks up close as they eat my beautiful pumpkins. They can pet smelly beagles. And depending on the choice I finally make, they can gather eggs OR scream at my fainting goat and watch it topple over multiple times. I keep telling Mikie, this could be a real money maker.

ANNOUNCEMENT! ANNOUNCEMENT! ANNOUNCEMENT! - As I mentioned Friday, A Simple Life was going to be experiencing some "changes" starting next Monday, October 18. However, I've decided to implement the changes as of today, October 11.

1. Beginning today, I will no longer write LONG posts on Monday. Mondays will be referred to as "Mindless Monday," and although there will be a brief post each and every Monday, the main reason you will be visiting is to take a gander at weekend pictures. The pictures (and the brief descriptions below the pics) will tell our story. (It will be similar to a child's picture book. I love those!)

2. Also, beginning today, Party/Events will be moved to Wednesday. Wednesday will continue to contain Wednesday Wisdom AND a Party, Event OR Seasonal Tradition.

3. The schedule will now read as follows:

Monday - Mindless Mondays - Many pictures and a VERY brief post.

Tuesday - Recipes - One or two pictures added to the Gallery and a new recipe to try.

Wednesday - Wednesday Wisdom and Party/Event/Seasonal Tradition - One or two pictures added to the Gallery, Wisdom and a Party, Event OR Seasonal Tradition.

Thursday - Blog Linkage and Dates - One or two pictures added to the Gallery, new Linkage and a Date.

Friday - Weekend Happenings - One or two pictures added to the Gallery and Weekend Happenings.

I'll still have a Special Guest the first of each month.

I will still have Randomness scattered throughout the posts.

I will still sign-off each and every day as "The Enchanting Belinda" (because that is who I have become, you see).

Needless to say, our weekend consisted of Homecoming and the Pageant. Although Mikie and Josh attended the Auburn vs. Kentucky game IN Kentucky, they decided not to take a camera... which was fine... really. (In reality, I'm still having difficulty dealing with this one.)

Repeat after me... "Change is good! Embrace the change!"
