Good Thursday morning!
The Gallery Pic is of Roxie and her friend, Hannah. Just a cute chick pic to add to the 2,000,000 others on A Simple Life!
RANDOMNESS - I read this on another favorite blog I visit. It goes with the Randomness I copied and shared yesterday, I think.
"A retreat is the act or process of withdrawing. It can mean to step away from the usual stuff in your life. It can mean that you play hard or relax a lot. Or maybe both. It can be a solitary thing. Or with a group of people. Sometimes going on a retreat means going somewhere far for an extended period of time. Sometimes it means slipping away for an hour to get a pedicure. A retreat is what you make it.
"This weekend I had a bit of a retreat in my favorite place in the world... our home. I’m here all the time, so the surroundings were quite familiar. My family was all here, too. Nothing unusual. But I took a break from a lot of 'regular' stuff. I kind of ignored my to-do list. I gave a cold shoulder to the computer. I didn’t get out much. Instead, I stayed in my pajamas most of the time and we played, cooked, relaxed, and read as a family.
"For the past few months, I have been retreating early in the morning, before our children wake up. This time is a gift. Sure, I could sleep just a little longer. That would be nice. But I am choosing to rise a little earlier to spend time in total silence, hearing only the prayer in my heart and the words that I am reading. Silence. Stillness. Such a gift. As I go to wake up the kiddos, I have already established my tone for the entire day. A happier, more grounded, more peaceful, more grateful tone."
Ahh! Just the words themselves make me feel calmer. These ladies are purposefully adding "stillness" to their lives. I like that. I like that a lot!
"Be still, and know that I am God." Psalm 46:10. And once again... Ahhh!
Blog Linkage - I have two links for you to visit today. One for the eyes and one for the heart.
1. Click on Confessions of the Pioneer Woman under My Blog List. When you arrive at her home page, click on "Photography" at the top. She had another photo contest on "Your Favorite Things." Take a minute to look at the wonderful pictures. Beautiful!
2. Go to www.katiemitchell.wordpress.com and read Katie's post entitled "You can't just exist. You have to live again." Katie's precious Daddy, Mac, was buried this past Monday. You will be amazed by Katie's words. You will think she is an amazing, strong, Christ-focused young woman... and you will be right. She is all those things because she was raised by Mac and her equally amazing, strong, Christ-focused Mom, Janet. And not to be left out (ever) is her sweet sister, Kristin. Janet gave me permission to share the link. Please take a few minutes to visit.

Pick a Halloween craft date and have fun... or pick two... or three!
Have a terrific Thursday! Weekend Happenings and a little Randomness await you on Friday's post. Feel free to visit again!
Take care, and I'll talk to you tomorrow.
Sincerely,
The Enchanting Belinda
If you are new to A Simple Life, here's a little tip. There will ALWAYS be many, many pics at the end of each post. New pictures are added every day (Monday through Friday). If you want to get to the "picture" part of the blog, you have to keep scrolling down, down, down... but you will eventually find it! Thanks for visiting!

Friday...
Finally, some new basketball action shots.
The JV team had two 40-minute games Friday, so I thought I would just go ahead and start filming now!
And here's the obligatory Bryant Tuggle pic. He's a HUGE supporter of our baskeball team. Always has been... always will be. Well, until he gets his own driver's license!
Saturday...
We spent the day with the cousins Saturday. Monica, Amy, Roxie and I shopped at Brookwood, ate at Yolo's and went to the movies (Pirates 4). It was a great day, but the best part was our celebrity sighting...
That's right! Will Ferrell! (Please feel free to use your imagination. I know we did!)
Sunday...
Mikie's 50th Family Birthday Celebration! Everyone knows 50 year-old men LOVE the Green Lantern...and their wives really like Ryan Reynolds! (How cool would it be to have your picture on a birthday party plate package? Another goal, perhaps?)
What do you give a 50 year-old guys for his birthday? Cards... filled with money, Ricky Skaggs' concert tickets, a True Grit DVD and a Red Devil's Food Cake with Divinity Icing (from his Mom). It was a very good day!
Lovely Melia gave him the True Grit DVD. (I LOVE that movie!)
And it wouldn't be a birthday without a hug from Roxie!
