Easy Potato Soup

Good Tuesday morning!

The Gallery Pics are of our Sunday fall lunch at my Mom's. Nothing spectacular. Just my family in all our autumnal glory. I'm wearing my boxy fall jacket. The jacket looks good when I am sitting down from the waist up. However, when I wear it with pants or a skirt, it makes me look like a rectangle. Thus, the name "boxy fall jacket." (That probably falls under the category of Too Much Info.)

Monday was the first day of a pretty busy week for the Faulkner household. Roxie's basketball season started with a Tip-Off Tournament Monday night, and will end tonight. After that, let the games begin.

Josh's football season is finished, so he will be cutting the yards one last time this week (one a day for four days), but then it will be over until spring.

Austin's Mondays and Tuesdays are always his busiest days, but his week gets easier and easier since he has an open football weekend. It will be the first one this season... so he'll be coming home on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday night or Sunday! YEA!!!

Other than that, Mikie and I are just hanging on for the dear life, which is what all good parents of teenagers do, isn't it?

We'll go ahead and finish Miss Melaney's interview today before I give you the world's easiest Potato Soup recipe. I bet you didn't think a Tuesday could be so good, did you?

11. Where is your "happy place?"

My MOST favorite "happy place" is the beach when I can go. My "happy place" at my house is on my couch in my favorite comfy clothes with my soft blanket over me.

12. Name a fond childhood memory.

Roller skating on Byler Road with my best friend, Amy Lovett, until we had to stop because it was dark and cars could not longer see us.

13. If someone wrote a book about your life, what would the title be?

14. Did you grow up in a small church or a large church?

I grew up in a VERY small church.

15. What is your favorite holiday, and why?

Christmas! I love EVERYTHING about it. I love celebrating Jesus' birth. I love the decorations and wrapping gifts. I love the time off from work. I love seeing family and spending special time together. I love the traditional meal.

I have a couple of traditions I enjoyed as a child that I have continued with my girls. I got new pajamas and slippers on Christmas Eve to wear to bed and enjoy again on Christmas morning for pictures. I love getting that for my girls! Then we always drove around one evening as a family to look at Christmas lights.

16. You are at home ALL day long by yourself with no car. Do you go stir crazy or thoroughly enjoy every minute of the day?

THOROUGHLY ENJOY IT!

17. What is one food you cannot force yourself to eat?

Collards or turnips

18. How old were you when you married?

I married at age 23.

19. How long was your engagement?

TOOOOOOO LONG of an engagement... 1 year, 3 months, and 2 weeks.

20. How many times have you moved since you've been married?

I have moved six times since I have been married.

21. Name one thing you love about each season.

Winter - Christmas; Spring - flowers; Summer - pool and beach; Fall - colors

22. Are you a "glass half full" person or a "glass half empty" person?

I think half full. Jamin had to think too long when I asked him... so now I'm wondering. Tori was confused about the question. Taylor isn't around to ask.

Melaney even went the extra mile and answered more than the REQUIRED 20 questions. She was a trooper!

Melaney, I definitely think you're a "glass half full" type person. Jamin must have been watching a ball game when you asked... thus, the hesitation. Never ask a man a question when he's watching TV... or eating... or sitting in his recliner... or driving. Anyway, that's my "rule of thumb." And thanks again for being my first Special Guest.

Easy Potato Soup

This recipe came from my friend, Terri Culpepper. It sounds great. I'm making a pot today, but I'm going to go ahead and share the recipe with Terri's blessing.

1 bag of frozen hash browns
2 cans of chicken broth
2 cans of Cream of Chicken soup
1 block of cream cheese

Pour everything in a slow cooker. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. Stir in between to mix in the cream cheese. When finished, top with cheese and bacon bits.

I don't know about you, but that sounds so good to me. And, please! Only four ingredients? I can't find recipes any easier than this, folks.

Be sure and tell Terri thanks when you see her out and about on Sunday morning. She just made your life so much easier.

Tomorrow, I'll be drawing a new name for the December Special Guest, and I will be contacting her to see if she's willing and able.
