Cauliflower Salad

Good Tuesday morning!

The Gallery is full of yesterday's snow and ice photos. Tomorrow may be more of the same. I'll have to see where my camera takes me!

RANDOMNESS - You may (or may not) be wondering why there are no pics of Mikie in The Gallery this morning. When there is a threat of bad weather and/or streets being closed, he must go to work. He left Sunday afternoon when the sleet started falling, but hopefully, he'll be able to come home this evening. We missed him yesterday and last night during the game, but we had fun just the same... and he was able to watch the game with some Auburn fans/co-workers, so he was with like-minded people.

The remaining Faulkner Four received text messages every three or four minutes, so we kind of watched the game together. Kind of.

Cauliflower Salad

Let me start this segment by saying, "I do NOT like cauliflower. I have NEVER liked cauliflower. EVER." However, my friend, Debbie Stovall, prepared this for our 12 Teas of Christmas Progressive Tea... and I LOVED IT! I am now a Cauliflower Salad AND Caulitater fan!

You will need the following:

1 head of lettuce
1 head of cauliflower
1 medium purple onion
10 slices bacon, cooked
1 cup mayonnaise
2 tablespoons sugar
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated

1. Break up head of lettuce. Place in a salad bowl.

2. Cut cauliflower into bite-size pieces. Layer on top of lettuce.

3. Chop onion and layer over cauliflower.

4. Crumble bacon over onion.

5. Mix mayonnaise and sugar. Spread evenly over the bacon.

6. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese over the top.

7. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Toss before eating.

If you are a fan of the cauliflower, run to the grocery store immediately, buy these ingredients and make the salad tonight! (I'm almost 100 percent positive the grocery stores did not sell all of their cauliflower for the 2011 Winter Weather Event. Almost 100 percent positive!)

If you are NOT a fan of the cauliflower, read the above paragraph and do exactly as it says. You are about to have a very pleasant surprise.

Have a good Tuesday. I'm not sure what the weather has in store for us today. I hope we'll be able to get out for a little bit this afternoon, but maybe not. (I was thinking about treating the kids to a Chick-Fil-A Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milkshake if the Chick is open for business. Once again, I am highly recommending a very fattening drink. I can't help myself! And for the record, I like the following drinks in the following order:

1. McDonald's Caramel Frappe'

2. Joe Mugg's Ghirardelli Frozen Hot Chocolate

3. Chick-Fil-A's Peppermint Chocolate Chip Milkshake.

Surely one of the above establishments is open today! Text me if you hear something!
