Weekend Happenings

Good Friday morning!

AND THE WINNERS ARE... Francis Crowder, Becki Langham, Joan Patrick, Cam Law, Kim Montgomery AND Dawn Grill! Congratulations, Chicks! I'll be contacting you the first of next week to set up the date! It's going to be a very good time!

The Showcase Pic is of our October Special Guest... BEVERLY MARTIN! That's right. My little sister will be visiting A Simple Life through next Wednesday. Check out Part One of her interview below.

The Gallery Pics are of Baby Joshua. Since his birthday is coming up, I'm getting that melancholy feeling again, so I'm "pre-posting" some of his infant shots. He was (and is) such a handsome fellow!

RANDOMNESS - Although there has been activity around my front door this week, by the time I open the door, there are no chickens in sight. This leads me to believe the following:

1. After the chickens have been thrown from a moving vehicle onto my front lawn, they quickly (and wisely) run away.

2. The people who said they were going to bring me a chicken lied. That's right. I said it. They lied to me!

3. I'm starting to hear things... like people throwing live chickens onto my front lawn. (Which honestly, is just a little upsetting.)

SPECIAL GUEST - BEVERLY MARTIN - PART ONE - Beverly is my younger sister (by four years). She is the wife of Tommy, and mother of Brad, Katie and Zac (who appear regularly on A Simple Life). We are very different in many ways, but we are similar in the most important way... we are sisters!

1. List three adjectives that describe you.

Loyal, laid back and intimidating. (I would agree with this... except maybe the intimidating part. I've known her too long to be intimidated!)

2. If you were president, name three things you would change about the country right away.

I would encourage media to truly be unbiased. I would not worry about what was politically correct and just be honest. I would find out what "pork spending" really is... and get rid of it. (I'm going to vote for Beverly!)

3. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy?

A house.

4. You are going to be alone on a deserted island for a year, and you get to take one book/DVD/CD. What would you take?

A Bible. It’s the only book I know that is living and reveals something different every time you read it.

5. Describe your perfect day (from the time you wake up until you go to bed).

Any day when the family gets up in a good mood, and we get to spend the day together.

6. If you could invent something that would make life easier, what would it do?

A clock that would work like the alarm clock in the old Jetson’s cartoon. It would dump my whole family out of bed, get them ready in stages while moving them along on a conveyor belt. (I loved that cartoon. I've always wanted a robot maid named Rosie.)

7. What movie character would you want to be?

Lara Croft. (Cool. Very cool.)

8. If you could meet a person from history, who would it be?

Eve. I’ve got some serious questions for her. (I get this answer a lot.)

I learned a little bit about my sister today. We'll find out more about her and her life next week!

Weekend Happenings

Right this very minute, football and birthday celebrations rule this weekend. We'll be heading to the JSU game Saturday evening, and we'll be tailgating. That's right. The Faulkner Five are bringing tailgating to JSU. It's very exciting, and it's going to be a great photo op!

Josh's 17th family birthday celebration will be held Sunday. The fact he is going to be 17 is ALMOST as unbearable as Austin being 19 and Roxie being 14. (I'll be sharing his Birth Day Story beginning Monday of next week. I know you're thrilled!)

There are going to be several other events/happenings thrown in the mix, but these two stand out as the biggies.

I'll let you know how everything turns out... I always do!

Have a magnificent autumn weekend. Spend as much time with your family and friends as you possibly can. Go to a place of worship this Sunday morning and enjoy the fellowship of other believers. Stay outside as much as humanly possible and soak in the cool autumn breezes.

Next week will be busy, busy, busy on A Simple Life... because it's October, you see. We've got a lot of stuff to cover!

Take care, and I'll talk to you on Monday.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting Belinda

Friday...

Friday...
Finally, some new basketball action shots.

The JV team had two 40-minute games Friday, so I thought I would just go ahead and start filming now!

And here's the obligatory Bryant Tuggle pic. He's a HUGE supporter of our baskeball team. Always has been... always will be. Well, until he gets his own driver's license!

Saturday...

Saturday...
We spent the day with the cousins Saturday. Monica, Amy, Roxie and I shopped at Brookwood, ate at Yolo's and went to the movies (Pirates 4). It was a great day, but the best part was our celebrity sighting...

That's right! Will Ferrell! (Please feel free to use your imagination. I know we did!)

Sunday...

Sunday...
Mikie's 50th Family Birthday Celebration! Everyone knows 50 year-old men LOVE the Green Lantern...and their wives really like Ryan Reynolds! (How cool would it be to have your picture on a birthday party plate package? Another goal, perhaps?)

What do you give a 50 year-old guys for his birthday? Cards... filled with money, Ricky Skaggs' concert tickets, a True Grit DVD and a Red Devil's Food Cake with Divinity Icing (from his Mom). It was a very good day!

Lovely Melia gave him the True Grit DVD. (I LOVE that movie!)

And it wouldn't be a birthday without a hug from Roxie!
