Mindless Monday

Good Monday morning!

Welcome to Birthday Central! I've posted MamMa's birthday pics today, and I'll post Austin's party pics tomorrow. There were just too, too many for one day.

Enjoy the lack of wordiness in today's post. It only happens once a week!

RANDOMNESS #1 - I saw a news article entitled "Tips for Safe Travels for 50 Year-Olds and Older." I've said it before... I'm okay with being 50 in August, but I had no idea it would automatically mean I would be unable to travel safely (without special tips, of course). All I'm asking for as a gift for my birthday is a taser. I'm pretty sure that's the only "tip" I need.

RANDOMNESS #2 - I would love to host an Oscar party one day. I've seen so many great "theme" ideas for food and decorations to go along with your favorite Oscar movie. However, I RARELY see any of the nominated films. Most of them are "thinking" films, or "artsy" films, or "rated-R" films, or "non-animated" films... none of which are on my list of "must see" movies.

NOTE - I did branch out this year. I saw not one, BUT TWO, documentaries. Remember? I told you all about Babies. I loved that movie. Well... parts of it. And then I took Roxie to see the Justin Bieber, Never Say Never documentary. (YES! It was a documentary! Very educational!)

I guess I could have had a Toy Story 3 Oscar Party. That's right up my alley... but for some reason, I didn't realize it was nominated until last night! Oh, and I do plan on seeing True Grit. I didn't want to before because I'm a John Wayne fan, and I was afraid Jeff Bridges wouldn't do a good job playing Rooster Cogburn. However, Mikie and the boys assure me he was wonderful, and I would love it.

Maybe next year!

Have a safe Monday. Things are going to be a little stormy around here this afternoon, I think. Tuesday's recipe is ready and waiting to be posted first thing tomorrow morning. I hope you'll add it to your recipe collection!

Take care, I'll talk to you tomorrow.

Sincerely,

The Enchanting Belinda

Friday...

Friday...
Finally, some new basketball action shots.

The JV team had two 40-minute games Friday, so I thought I would just go ahead and start filming now!

And here's the obligatory Bryant Tuggle pic. He's a HUGE supporter of our baskeball team. Always has been... always will be. Well, until he gets his own driver's license!

Saturday...

Saturday...
We spent the day with the cousins Saturday. Monica, Amy, Roxie and I shopped at Brookwood, ate at Yolo's and went to the movies (Pirates 4). It was a great day, but the best part was our celebrity sighting...

That's right! Will Ferrell! (Please feel free to use your imagination. I know we did!)

Sunday...

Sunday...
Mikie's 50th Family Birthday Celebration! Everyone knows 50 year-old men LOVE the Green Lantern...and their wives really like Ryan Reynolds! (How cool would it be to have your picture on a birthday party plate package? Another goal, perhaps?)

What do you give a 50 year-old guys for his birthday? Cards... filled with money, Ricky Skaggs' concert tickets, a True Grit DVD and a Red Devil's Food Cake with Divinity Icing (from his Mom). It was a very good day!

Lovely Melia gave him the True Grit DVD. (I LOVE that movie!)

And it wouldn't be a birthday without a hug from Roxie!
