Spread the Love September

Good Tuesday morning!

The Showcase Pic has been replaced by a photo of our Special Guest this week... JULIE TUGGLE! That's right! She gets the Showcase Pic spot for the next five days!

That means the Gallery Pic today is of me and Josh. The only new pictures I had from yesterday were from the volleyball game last night. Good pics, but I decided to spare you.

RANDOMNESS - This is just a reminder... It is Encouragement Wednesday on A Simple Life. Text, e-mail, telephone or leave a Facebook message encouraging at least one person today (and every Wednesday from now on). Just one! You'll never know what it might mean for that one person to hear a kind word TODAY!

SEPTEMBER SPECIAL GUEST - JULIE TUGGLE - PART ONE - I have known Julie for a while, but we became close when our daughters (Kelci and Roxie) began playing volleyball a year ago. She is fun and funny. She is young and hip. She is encouraging and honest (Code for IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW THE REAL ANSWER, DON'T ASK HER). She LOVES her family... and I love her!

1. If you were writing a newspaper article about your life, what would the headline be?

Married, With Children.

2. List three adjectives that describe you.

Loyal, honest and simple. (I would have to agree with each and every one of those adjectives. I would also add a dozen more... which I think I did in the above paragraph!)

3. If you were President, name three things you would change about the country right away.

I would recognize the fact that this country is founded on Christianity. I would also change immigration laws and healthcare. (Julie for President. Anyone? Anyone?)

4. If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would buy?

I would use the money to finish all the phases of GFBC. (See. She is selfless. I would be buying a lake house on Lake Guntersville... and jet skis... and a pontoon boat... and a tennis bracelet. I feel so shallow... and ashamed.)

5. If you could ask God one question, what would it be?

What's the deal with creating flies?

6. You are going to be alone on a deserted island for a year, and you get to take ONE book/DVD/CD. What would you take?

The Bible, of course.

7. Describe your perfect day (from the time you wake up until you go to bed).

Wake up, get kids ready for school, take kids to school, clean the house, do the laundry, have lunch with a friend (THE ENCHANTING BELINDA), nap, pick up kids, finish homework, greet husband from work, prepare supper, eat together, watch a little TV, tuck everyone in bed, read Bible, have prayer, night-night. (I have to admit... that's a pretty good day.)

8. If you could invent something that would make life easier, what would it do?

Dust.

9. What movie character would you want to be?

A young Betty White.

10. If you could meet a person from history, who would it be?

Eve. I think I would slap her. (She would, too!)

11. If you could be an Olympic athlete, what would you be?

Swimmer. (Me, too. Julie and I hate to sweat!)

12. Where is your favorite place in the world? Why?

Home. My family is there. (You know I LOVE this answer!)

Spread the Love September

Okay. This is kind of a challenge... kind of a "could be" tradition... kind of an experiment.

Starting today (September 1, 2010) until the end of the month (September 30, 2010), pick a different person each and every day of the month to encourage, compliment, listen to, etc. Put yourself "out there" for 30 different people.

You can tweet, e-mail, text, phone or leave a message on their Facebook. You can even drop by for a minute with a smile, a card and a hug!

You can make a list of 30 people ahead of time, or you can wake up each day and decide who you will "love on."

It can be a friend, an acquaintance, a family member, a child, an older adult... ANYONE! It can be the person who hands you the Caramel Frappe' at McDonald's drive-thru window. (I LOVE her, by the way!)

The possibilities are endless, and the results are ALL positive! It's a win-win!

Don't forget. It begins today and ends on the 30th. Let me know how it goes!
